Mine does this too. not all the time. Slight nuisance.

im left to wonder if it’s something I’m doing. I’m going to visit the manual

Let me know if you find out anything! I studied the manual this morning and didn't see anything that would explain it.

I was at dealer today. To me he confirmed everything Mark S said as I explained this is how mine works. To sum up, if you turn climate completely off, Auto is off and AC will not restart.

I also explained that I feel like sometime AC was on when I turned off the car and it does not come on when I start and he speculated that could happen if the temps outside cools past your cars set temp (like overnight). I’m not super technical but essentially he was saying that the car comes alive at times and can turn this off. Once the AC is off, it is off.

I tried to keep this post short as we had a long, detailed conversation, so I hope it makes sense.

Ok, so here's the silly part about that explanation. If I cycle through the ACC intensity settings it will turn the A/C on. But he (meaning your dealer guy) is saying if you turn the ACC off completely, turning it back on will NOT trigger the A/C to come on ??‍♀?

Sounds less and less like my car isn't functioning properly, and more like this is a design flaw by Ford.

Anyone think it has something to do with a software update? I’ve had my updates off so nothing breaks. I’ve been considering letting it update.

I don't know, my 2021 had a couple updates and it didn't change anything as far as I could tell.
