So I was looking at getting some new wheels and I know that the offset for our BS is 5x108 but here is where the confusion sets in. Some sites show that 5x4.25 is the same as 5x108. So my questions are:
1. is the 5x4.25 the same as 5x108?
2. would a +28 or +32 offset cause issues with 245/65/17 tires?

108mm comes to ~ 4.25in and 4.5in comes to ~114mm. 1st gen Escapes used the 114mm pattern, among others.
No idea on the offset thing.

5X4.25" (5X108mm) is the bolt pattern, not the offset. Wheel offset is the distance from the wheel's longitudinal centerline to the hub face. A positive offset places the wheel centerline behind (toward the vehicle) the hub face, while a negative offset places the wheel centerline in front of (away from the vehicle) the hub.
