Purchased these off of Amazon. I decided to wire them into the lower amber bumper running lights vs going into the main wiring harness. Very happy with the final result.

I was thinking about getting these but heard they can void the warranty. They're a great little addition!

hmmm ?
I’ve never heard anything about warranty being voided with these but I also didn’t look into it. They’re so easy to revert back to stock that it’s worth it me. I did a clean install with the wiring so I’ll just hope that I never run into electrical issues

If you cut the OEM wiring you will almost certainly void the warranty on the wiring. It might also allow Ford to make a case for claim denial if a component connected to that wiring fails. For example, if your running lights malfunction after you have cut the wire Ford might claim you caused a short which resulted in the malfunction.

BTW, the wiretaps many have recommended to simplify installation must cut through the wire insulation to function properly. And if you use the wrong size or install them incorrectly they will almost certainly cut the wire strands inside the insulation.

My recommendation if you want to install these is to get the adapter sold by the light manufacturer that goes between the connectors on the OEM wire and light assembly. You can then make all the necessary connections to the wires on the adapter instead of the OEM wire harness. If/when it becomes necessary to make a warranty claim you can simply remove the adapter and plug the wire harness back into the light.

Could you link to one of those adapters? I'd love to get these put in mine but the adapter might seem like the safest way to avoid a potential warranty issue.

At best, Ford could void only the warranty as it applies to the wiring connecter you tapped into. In simpler words, your warranty for anything else is intact (I.E. engine, transmission, etc).

Even so, Ford would have to prove that the side markers you installed did damage to the wiring, should you have an issue with that, and wanted to make a warranty claim.

For this reason, I made a comment months ago on a thread where a member here had these side markers installed by a shop, and the wiring was horrible and shoddy. IMO, that wiring could have caused a short, leading to wiring damage or worse, perhaps an electrical fire.

I have these lights but also have the white light. Is it legal to have the Amber light for the daytime running lights and the white light for the amber. It has you install the opposite. But I prefer the amber light on all the time and white as the blinker.
