What is this warning indicator for?

So I noticed this warning indicator on my dash this morning for the first time to the left of the fuel gage and looked all through the manual and can not find it. Does anybody know what it is? I thought it might be indicating the gas door hatch was open, but shut it twice and it doesn't go away. Shut the engine off and went and filled the tank and shut the gas door hatch again and still there? Thanks in advance.

I think there is an outside chance it is indicating an unbuckled seat belt on a seat with some weight on it, in particular the driver's seat.

If you are talking about the gas pump icon with a triangle pointing to the driver side, that is just indicator that it is the side that gas fill door is on so you know which side to pull up to the gas pump on.

Well, that gas pump icon with its arrow should have always been there to indicate which side of the vehicle to pull up to a gas pump and pretty much all (newer) vehicles have a similar icon, perhaps you just never noticed?

It's kind of a common sense thing....it's on every vehicle. Probably why there's nothing in the manual about it.

Because it's not a notification or warning symbol. You haven't seen it because you've never noticed it.

Buckle the passenger seat belt and see if it goes away.

According to DesignNews Ford started putting the arrow next to the gas pump image in model year 1989 after an engineer took an empty pool vehicle for a meeting and pulled up on the wrong side of the pump in the rain three years earlier.

It means, if you have gas, exit the car before passing said gas. It’s in a special section of the manual though.

That first came out over 20 years ago in all but a few makes of vehicles, you’ve never seen this ?
