VA is called Terrain by Ford. Color on sticker is Desert Sand and neither local Ford dealership or Ford technical support has a code for Desert Sand. Ford technical support has issued a case # which is CXH-02745452-G82Z4N1 per agent Saela who was very helpful as the three prior agents did not know how to help me. Beware if you have this new color...horrible Ford screw-up issuing wrong color code on VIN and door placard....they should be ashamed! I found out when I tried to use the VA paint code on the Ford touchup paint I was given by the dealership and it wasn't even close!

Can you post a picture of the spot you touched up? I would like to see what the VA touch up paint looks like on the BS. I also have Desert Sand. My door sticker says the paint code is VA and my understanding from originally researching the color is that the Maverick Terrain color and the BS Desert Sand are the same color. I have not needed to use the touch up paint yet but my fear is that with the flat paint touching up small chips, etc will not blend in as well as with the metallic paint colors. For the 2025 Maverick Ford is now calling the color Desert Sand. I do not think it is a mistake that both Terrain and Desert Sand both are paint code VA but I do not have first hand experience trying to use the VA code touch up paint yet.

Attached is a letter from some incompetent desk jockey at Ford and pictures of the touchup paint on a door sill that I will be covering with a door sill cover and the VA paint Ford touchup paint that is the wrong color with the VA code sold by Ford which is the terrain color and not the desert sand as on car and the original sticker. Also, I have included a pic of door placard with paint code. FORD HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND QA/QC I HAVE EVER SEEN!
I found an aftermarket exact match: go on amazon and look up PAINT2FIX use VA code.

Wow! That color looks really off from the factory paint finish. My bottle of touch up paint is identical to yours. Based on the fact that you were able to find a aftermarket touch up paint on Amazon using the VA color code and it matches makes me wonder if the motorcraft paint is a bad batch and therefore the color is off. What is disappointing Is the Ford analyst did not actually try a bottle of the touch up paint to verify your concern. He only replied based on what ever written documents he has and never bothered to verify that the paint will actually match.

Question for others on the forum: Has anyone else with the Desert Sand color had an issue with the Motorcraft touch up paint matching?

Maybe go back to the Dealership and check another Touchup Paint of the same color?
