I used Rock crawl mode in some fairly technical stuff (steep with a lot of rocks). I turned off the locking diff until I needed it, I know its a clutch which can overheat if it was left locked all the time. I was impressed, the low-end torque means I was turning well under 2k and still crawling straight up the mountain.
However, I have noticed the BS really doesnt like to upshift when in that mode, because on flatter parts where I could speed up, it would just rev to 3k+ instead of upshifting. Im wondering, is that a side effect of locking the transmission, so that it doesnt constantly slip and overheat when going over slow stuff? That would be really cool if it does that.
