Yep, nobody is immune from recalls. Whatever the root cause analysis uncovers for the failure, they are owning up to it & making owners right again. I can’t fault them for that.

You're absolutely right, @MJE! It's reassuring to see Toyota taking responsibility and addressing the issue head-on. Recalls can be frustrating for owners, but the proactive approach of replacing the engines shows their commitment to customer safety and satisfaction. This is a great example of how even top-tier manufacturers can handle challenges effectively. Kudos to Toyota!

I know someone that had a Tacoma with frame rust. Toyota replace frame for free even though truck long past warranty. He paid dealer extra money replace all the brakes and other chassis parts while they had truck apart

Same ppl had Camry with 60k miles burned 1 quart of oil every 800 miles. Toyota said normal not fixing it. So they traded that in for a new Rav4 which has been problem free.

I do wonder if some of their warranty claims are like that. Normal. Nothing to see here. The car is perfect. Which might be true for 99% but beyond annoying if you’re the 1% with an oil burning problem & no mass recall.

Re Toyota has issues too. My neighbor recently bought a 24 RAV4 and recently told me he has an issue with the car randomly lurching forward from a stop when he takes his foot off the brake. The dealer called it unintentional acceleration which apparently has been an issue with Toyota for years when you search it on the internet. Toyota has had past recalls on the issue. The dealer checked the car over and could not find anything wrong so did not do anything to try and address the issue.
