Am I correct in assuming the front tow hooks don’t require d-rings? It’s hard to tell if those would even fit on there based on spacing around them.

Yes, soft shackles would be the correct answer.I'd guess that soft eyes / soft shackles will work best with the front tow hooks, rather than going hard-on-hard with D rings or screw-shackles.
Ideally, also with silicone "keepers" on the hooks themselves (retain that soft-shackle in ideal alignment/location), to lend a bit of sanity to recovery operations, but that's just pie-in-the-sky thinking.Yes, soft shackles would be the correct answer.
