So im currently getting a 1.5" lift on my outer banks, im currently looking at getting some better/bigger tires and would like to know what the biggest tire you can get on the 18" rim is? Or should i look into getting 17" to get better options. Also is there anybody with 18s that currently has a lift and bigger tires that can post a pic?

What is your goal? Is this for better off-road capability, or just for looks? For off-road you want as much sidewall as possible to protect the wheel.

Yes. Unless you don’t care about your wheels as much. Helps with airing down off-road, you get a better contact patch. Plus more room before you smack the rim lip aired down. 17s are just a better all around option to go off-road with. Plus more tire always looks better than more rim

Yes. A good rule of thumb for off-road tires is to get the wheel as close to half the diameter of the tire as possible, preferably less. The more sidewall you have the more tire flex you get. You also get more distance between where the tire touches the ground and the rim of your wheel.

Wheels less than 16 inches are impractical for the Bronco Sport because the brakes won't fit inside them. A 16-inch wheel would be better for off-roading than a 17 inch, but the taller sidewall will feel more "squirmy" on the road due to the increased flexibility of the sidewall. 17-inch wheels are a good compromise between on- and off-road capability. They provide good on-road handling, and adequate off-road protection.

Many people have two different sets of wheels/tires, one for everyday driving and another for the off-road forays. That's my plan eventually. My off-road setup will be 16" steel wheels with 245/70 tires.
