While in the Smoky Mountains, we drove the Tail of the Dragon today. It is a switchback mountain road that is 11 miles long and 318 curved some of which are 300 degrees plus. There are sports cars and super bike by the hundreds. The BS handled great. I could have gone much faster but the wife couldn’t handle the turns that fast. I was never able to push the Bronco past its limits. The only thing that would help would be sport seat.

I did have two curves where I broke hard and a warning came up that power was reduced and it wouldn’t speed up for 2 or 3 seconds. Fortunately none of the sports cars were up my butt at that time.

check out some of the pictures on line of Tail of the Dragon.

I don't live too far from TOD and love seeing the pictures on FB "Killboy". Do you have your pic? I'd love to see it!

I think the complete opposite, I have a Badlands with 245/65/17 tires, It doesn't handle worth beans on winding mountain roads, between its tippyness and lack of corering ability unless you trail break into corners it's pretty bad and even worse when loaded up. What it does have going for it is power, it's great in a straight line or on any incline.

I did Tail of The Dragon this past January in my lifted sport on KO2’s at the time. Crossed over from Cherohola Skyway in Tellico Plains, crossed over in the snow and ice and dropped back down into N.Carolina. Got dinner and decided that Cherohola at dusk wasn’t the best idea with the snowmelt on the road re-freezing as it was almost whiteout by the time we got to 3,000 ft. I let the GPS take me another route which put us on Tail Of The Dragon in the ice… handled it like a champ but had my fiancé puckering her back side the whole time…. I thought it was a blast ??

Interesting. Mine holds without over or under steering. I push it hard and the tires don’t roll. The body stays pretty flat. My biggest issue is lack of side support from the drivers seat. They are not sport seats.
