I'm driving around with a brick on my dashboard, essentially. It's been acting strange, having trouble connecting, basic functions not working and finally the screen is dead.

The volume/power button and the skip forward button did in fact reboot the screen. Now I just can't get FordPass Connectivity to indicate anything nor can I pair my FordPass app with it. Still trying. I have an appointment for service, in the queue for Thursday. If I can't resolve by then I'll take it in.

There is a thread that talks about the info screen and instrument screen going black. It happened to mine. Several people said that it was a weak battery issue. Search "possible-battery-electrical-issue"

The soft reboot is as @PaulOinMA described. The hard reboot requires disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes or so. After that, I would perform a SYNC master reset.
