I know a guy who did a snork on his hummer.
Ruined a leather interior and did all kinds of electrical and electronic damage.
He didn’t think about water coming in through door seals and where the foot pedals and cables go thru the firewall.
Had it dragged out of the woods with a farm tractor.
Ya jest cain’t fix Stupid~~~~~

You may not hydrolock. But you’d have to redo/move and seal a bunch of electrical components. Too much effort in this vehicle. More work for limited fording depth that still won’t help you any. Buy a trail rig. I wouldn’t even go through the ā€œratedā€ water depths with my BL. Too much electronics in sensitive areas. Seen quite a few people drown these in water levels lower than the listed fording depth.

The big Bronco has an Everglades trim level that has a snorkel from the factory. But nothing for the sport.

Interesting the Badlands wading depth is substantially more than the rest

Lots of factors to consider for water crossing depth beyond just air intake height.
Door sill height, electronics, axles/transmission breathers. Axle breathers are actually fairly important because if a hot axle goes underwater it will cool rapidly and ā€œbreathe inā€ from the cooling, actually sucking water in thru the breather if it is submerged

this is true
4x4 ranger had the tube
need secondary axle snorkels :D
whats nice about the big bronco
removable body panels
sport - not so much
necessary to wash out all the slurry deposits

IIRC the Badlands has door seals, but is still limited to 23.6 because of the computer in the driver side wheel well.
The Hummer had door seals, made for splashing I guess. I dunno.
We’d need a relocate kit for the puter :’P
But still, I’ll just be happy watching other people drive their Bronco Sports into rivers, from the comfort of my couch, on YouTube. :’D

I have seen a snorkel kit for bronco sport. The problem with the kit, is you have to cut the left side fender, and put 3 inch hole. The other thing is definitely ecu location. It was early on when they first came out.

What’s interesting from this thread to me is the info we are getting on non badlands waterfording. Originally I thought adding lift and tires would give me extra water fording capability. But the more info comes out, the more I think the extra height should just give me more confidence in the stock waterfording due to ECU placement, door sills, axels etc etc. This is all really good info. Thanks y’all.
