About a month or so back in the winter, I put my wipers up expecting snow and ice (which did come). However, I started the car before putting the blades back down which caused them to slam into the rear part of the hood scratching the paint all the way down to the metal on two different parts…
After some digging around on the internet for solutions (I did not want to pay shop prices but also did not want the exposed metal to eventually rust) I came across “Scratches Happen” who sells brand/model/year specific paint for cars. The kit I ordered came with a primer, velocity blue paint, and a clear coat as well an assortment of brushes and gloves. Today I was finally able to give it a try and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The first photos are the before. Admittedly, I forgot to take pictures before adding the primer but you can at least you can see just how bad the damage was.
And here are the after photos.
While not to professional standards due to my unsteady hands I think it was well worth the $30! I actually went around the whole truck and spot filled any little dings I could find and by the end of it me and my fiancée had trouble even finding the original dings. I would HIGHLY recommend this kit to anyone with small paint chips/scratches that doesn’t want to pay shop prices. Here is the link to their website for those interested… Scratches Happen.
