Hi, I have a new issue. I put a bike rack on my BS. Yes, I had to add a 2" hitch to do this. When the rack is on, the Reverse Brake Assist "sees" a hazard. If I continue, the BS will actually apply it's own breaks. This is dramatic.

When you start baking up, it seems to allow you to press the "yes" button to accept the hazard. At times it will over-ride the break Assist.

I looked through the menues, I can not find the override setting. I asked "ok, ford" in the vehicle, and that is not available "yet." Hints?

After a few tries, I ended up multi clicking the ok button while backing up Super Slowly and the breaks did not apply.
I will keep experimenting. Has anyone figured this out?

I know it’s in the menus on my 2025. I’ll look for it later

The bottom of my driveway is steep enough to trigger it. It doesn’t just apply the brakes, it SLAMS them on! Scared the crap out of me the first time!

Be careful with bikes on the rack. My father-in-law has a Subaru with the same issue. The first time it happened he had electric bikes on the rack and they swung into the back and dented it. Good luck!

2023 BS BL I don't have the 360 view camera option, I do have the Tow Package, I carry 2 bikes, I never had any trouble backing up, only a long beep telling me there's something back

Nice bikes! Are you thinking you will go Ebike someday?

Some ā€˜21ā€“ā€˜24s models like your Badlands have backup sensors (including rear cross-traffic alert) so that long beep has to be disabled each time the vehicle is started

The 2025s on some or all models have the rear cross-traffic alert and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking which is what some 2025 owners are reporting happens with their bike racks

No E-bike for me! I need to exercise myself, I'm OK with the MTB for an occasional weekend use
You're correct about the backup sensors on my BL

I exercise more and burn more calories on the Ebike - key is to ride with the motor off, pedal further and longer than normal, flip on the motor when needed to get back or to climb hills you wouldn’t normally tackle on a non Ebike
Common misconception that EBikes provide for less exercise

Hi, it's in the "Features" menu. Not in the settings menu. I found it and turAssist. "break assist."

I was going insane following all of the wrong posts. Scared the crap out of me the first time it slammed the brakes on.
