Not long after getting the Battery was recall done, I got an error "Charging System Service Soon" in the driver instrument panel, and some check engine light. The Issue persisted for a day to two, so I took it in back to the service center. Dealer was able to read the error codes, but not able to re-produce the issue and unable to find root cause. I got the vehicle back and no issue seen for several weeks at least.

Well, the "Charging System Service Soon" would pop-up once and awhile, but then go away on its own within a few seconds. Additionally, the car always seemed to be in sleep mode when I got in, center screen would read something like "System preserving battery, please turn off ignition or start vehicle". Auto-start stop completely disabled. As time progressed the "Charging System Service Soon" error would randomly pop-up but with increasing regularity. Then the center screen display would show , "System preserving battery, please turn off ignition or start vehicle" error......while I was driving on the highway, followed by the screen going dark.

Finally took it in after all the above occurred several times on a single drive......followed by loss of all electrical, except the headlights, tail lights, and instrument cluster. Nothing on the low voltage system worked.

Vehicle is with Ford now, and after reading a few (and only a few) threads here... I'm expecting the alternator to have crapped out...after the battery recall was done. Only 27K on the vehicle and one whole month past the 3yr warranty. Very suspicious....

Will update with progress. I got the extended warranty in case Ford lived up to its acronym of "Fix Or Repair Daily"........ crossing my fingers this will be the extent of the issues.

Are you sure Ford provided you a new AGM Battery at no charge under the Recall ?

I never got the service charging system message. My battery would randomly act like it was dead and have no start issues when 20 minutes earlier the Sport started fine with no issues, then after it was jump started it would be fine for a week then randomly act like it was dead. It got so bad it couldn't be trusted. Once on a busy blvd the dash board lit up like a Christmas tree and then all the electrical died, thought it was because the key fob was on the back seat in a gym bag, moved the fob to the center console, still no start or anything, waited 10 minutes or so and everything was normal again. Took the Sport back to the dealer for a 3rd time for the electrical issues, they finally replaced the original lead acid battery with an AGM Motorcraft battery under warranty and haven't had any electrical problems since.
