Shortly after we had bought a new Explorer, our car would only start periodically so we took it to our local Ford Dealer thinking that it was a warranty problem. While waiting for the repair, the technician asked us to look at the problem. Mice apparently had been nesting in the engine compartment eating away at the wiring harness going to the starter. The technician told us that our warranty did not cover mice damage and hit us with a fairly large bill for rewiring the harness. So do not delay; resolve the issue as soon as you can.
