Dash Uniformity

I apologize for the terrible title - struggling to find the proper terms to describe this section of the dash. Anyway, I noticed immediately when sitting in my just delivered BS at the dealership one of the plastic seams isn’t very uniform. I didn’t worry much about it that day, figuring I’d just bring it up to service at my first oil change.

I got to thinking, how do others dash look? Mine looks perfect except this one spot, but if this is a fairly normal issue I may just drop it. I’d hate for the fix to look worse!

I had the same thought but it’s solidly pushed up slightly in that area. I’d have to exert far more force than I’m comfortable trying.

Ha ha. For some reason my eye went straight there when I first sat in the passenger seat.

That piece is held down by clips. Tap it with the bottom of your fist and it’ll probably snap back down.

Thanks! Seeing this let me decide to take a trim removal tool and pop that side up a little. I was able to see the clip on that side isn’t gripping when pressed down. I tried making small adjustments but I couldn’t get it to stick. I don’t know if I’ll do anything more but I now know the issue.

Oh, interesting. To remove that, I am guessing you start at the part closest to you and pry up? It looks like the ends have tabs that slide in? I'm sort of interested in putting a USB outlet up there like on the big Bronco.

You have to remove the A pillars. There’s a bolt under them holding the ends of the trim piece down.
