My '22 BS came with the 4 button key fob, which doesn't have the remote start button. I've been using the app to remote start it but to use up some of my pass points, I bought the Remote Start 1-Button Fob. I've seen some YouTube videos, but they were for vehicles with keys for the ignition. Does anyone know if there's a way to program this myself without having to take it to the dealer or having to get a key person do it? I've seen some YouTube videos but they were for vehicles with keys for the ignition.

Did this fob come with a module to install in the car? Remote start via fob requires the appropriate receiver installed in the vehicle. The receiver your car uses to for remote start via FordPass is not the same thing; that's a cellular data receiver. You need the receiver that connects to the transmitter in the fob. I'm pretty sure if your car didn't come with the remote start option and/or you haven't installed the perimeter plus security module, this transmitter is not going to work for you.

According to the webpage for this accessory (look under details), Ford Perimeter Plus Vehicle Security base module required (sold separately).

Thanks! It did not come with a module, just the fobs. I guess I should have read more into it, instead of just going off of "compatible with vehicle." Now to find what I need to make this work, or not lol.

If I were you I would return the fobs and purchase the perimeter plus alarm system instead. After installing the perimeter plus system you can use your existing fob for remote start. As a bonus, you get a decent alarm system.

It's actually fairly easy to install. You can read my post about it here.

Thanks! Though I can't return the fobs (used points so I'm not out of pocket atleast) but the perimeter plus looks like the way to go and easy enough to install (for my husband that is, lol).
