This is a problem, both the ECU and an electrical junction box near it are below the depth that Ford claims the Bronco can traverse. They need move the location pronto and do the same with any units in for warranty for corrosion problems. I'm sure I'm not the only person that is wondering what is going to happen if I do a water crossing. I knew there would be first-year production issues, but that doesn't mean I don't expect more from Ford.
I have a 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend @ 748mi. All city driving, all trips <20mi at a time. Less than 1mo of ownership. I just use this unit to haul the kids around. Unfortunately, I don’t think this qualifies as a first year production issue anymore.

Just got this warning too... only 320mi. It went away though, still going to make an appt.
Update: Dealer basically said "huh, no codes and seems ok" and did nothing. Now 400mi later and it happened again. Same light. Went away after I parked it for about 30min. Now no light or codes.
Debating whether it's worth my time to have the dealer tell me there's nothing wrong with it again. Sucks having to wait until something is obviously broken, and seems they'd have some other way to diagnose a transient issue like this. It's not like I'm making this sh*t up - there's a record of it in the app!

I went through this same thing today. Leaves a real bad taste in my mouth. Not a fan.

Basically what my dealer told me with the wrench icon too. If it doesn’t stay on, it probably hasn’t thrown a code, & isn’t serious. Uh ok. I guess if it does go away. But. At least the first time it did it to me I did take it in & get them to look at it, so I have record, should something really break on it, that I haven’t ignored a warning sign. I’m not quite sure what more to do, but of course for a vehicle I’ll trade once the BS arrives, I haven’t been too worried about it.

Intermittent problems are the absolute bane of maintenance techs. Trust me, they know you're not making it up, there just isn't anything they can do until they can diagnose the problem, and if there are no symptoms there can be no diagnosis.

Sounded like this was something they knew about, but didn't have any info on what to do about it.

I only had my 2022 Bronco Sport for 3 days literally didn't drive it for 2 days that 3rd morning I got the powertrain and reduced power notification. Took it in Monday afternoon around 3pm got it back Wednesday around 3pm Thursday morning same thing. Just took it back today after work. It's literally a 2022 brand new vehicle less than 20 miles on it. If it happens a 3rd time I'm switching vehicles if they don't figure it out.

Update: so I got it back Friday. Said they ordered a Gear Shift Module. Which is on back order and will be in 5/11 so let's hope it'll fix the issue.

Did they get a code, or just guessing at it? Had it happen 3 more times, but goes away before I can get it over there. Says reduced power but doesn't seem like it's in limp mode. It's literally just the warning that bugs me at this point. Figured I have a lot more warrantee left, lets see if it gives me something to show-and-tell instead of wasting the back-and-forth.

Mine was a code first time also said debris was somewhere can't remember what he said. Also said the code said check the battery which was fine. Since I got it back Friday I drove today and no issues with the alert. Guy who replied said something about the fordpass app. (Yes I also use it) also worth having for the notifications to prove something popped up.

Yes, have all the messages in the app. Called dealer this week and I guess they have the ability to look up codes remotely. Finally recorded something related to a transmission solenoid so taking it in Monday.

Hello fellow Bronco Sport drivers! I bought my 2022 Bronco Sport this past June have had it about 6 months. I have roughly 7962 miles on it, a lot of highway/traveling and living in California in general. On Wednesday this week I had the same wrench light come on and right away my issues started with it running really rough. Once I got into the highway thing’s seemed fine minus the light stop being on. I got off the highway and came to a red light, as I started to go once it turned green my foot was basically pushing the pedal to the floor with minimal power and the engine rpm’s were at 4000-5000. I was able to park it safely nearby. I went back the next day to see if maybe it was a glitch, nope still all the same issues except now when I put it in Reverse, the shifter starts blinking and a message that says something to the effect of reducing to a lower speed and well I couldn’t move it at all!

Long story short I got a call from the dealership today and yep my brand new Bronco also needs a whole new transmission smh. Thank goodness I bought the 6/75,000 mi warranty with bumper to bumper coverage otherwise I’d be screwed. I just wanted to share my experience in case this happens to anyone else. The final diagnosis a new transmission so now my Bronco is going to be new, new ?….. got to hunt the good stuff in bad situations.

I’d highly recommend getting it checked out asap. Mine came on the night before I had to have it towed and now a new transmission
