Well, we finally got our '23 OBX back Friday. Paint was corrected, the rusty roof panel was replaced and the power windows were reprogrammed. Engineering is looking into a solution for the rear differential noise, and a headliner with new clips is on order to alleviate a bad rattle around the sunroof. Apparently it was defective. While it was in possession of the body shop, it was exposed to overspray and clear coat to the point that the windshield, windows and exterior mirrors haze over in the sun. I'd even wager that the wipers are toast, because they scrape and drag across the windows like they were sitting in the sun for years. Any ideas on cleaning off the debris on the glass, just in case the dealer doesn't do it correctly?

I would try Stoner's Invisible Glass or maybe alcohol first.

I've used AMaz on water stained windows to good effect. I believe it is a wax, so it isn't a permanent solution.

Gently scrape the glass with a single edge razor blade held almost parallel to the windshield so it doesn’t gouge. My wife’s Tacoma had the same overspray thing happen and that’s the only thing that got the overspray off.

Finally got it back a couple of weeks ago, after another 12 days in the shop. They got all the residue off, and detailed the inside.

I would not use acetone anywhere near a car. I tried to use it to clean the back of the seat on my plane. The vinyl started smoking and instantly deformed.

I think we can all agree there’s a difference between glass and vinyl!

I would agree it’s not for interior bits or anything made of plastic.
