My wife has had 3 recalls, all safety, on her BS Outer Banks 1.5L. 1st fuel injecter issue. 2nd a suspension issue. a nd this last one power control and body modules effecting 456,000 BS and Maveriks. She started ny having that service charging system error. 1st fix on injectors was a drain tube? Feds are investigating Ford's fix on that already. When we noticed internet listed this last pcm and bpm issue, her vin# was one of them. We toom it in to a dealer they said issue was alternator and cost of 1900 to fix. We already replaced one 6 months ago! Anyway we did it ourselves again in under 1 hour for a job they said was 5.5 hours...lol. still didn't fix what they said was wrong. And we told dealer there was a control module recall. They didnt even have the letters out yet. Well, finally they did software update. It made matters worse! It still lost power, still jerked, and to boot we watched the shifter literally go from reverse to park on it's own! And in reverse, park, or drive the red indicater light would flash off and on! The car is totally unsafe to drive. When slowing you lose power, taking off it hesitates. It regains power and jerks with a clunk. They then told us the transmission is bad for 9000 dollars to fix...we went to wife's friend at Another dealer and bought 2019 Jeep Compass Latitude AWD/4WD with only 46k 0n it. Nice SUV! Under her sales lady friend's advice since Ford won't make good on it, we called her financer and said, " we refuse to continue payments on a vehicle we can't drive, is unsafe, and Ford can't seem to fix...out of warranty being a 2021, they refuse to make good on their product under a safety recall. It cannot be the tranny with all this electrical crap going on and the so called software update fix, made it worse! Evefy 15-20 minutes you have to pull over, shut it off (if it decides it is in park, which has happened) and wait 10 minutes and go again. The only way to make it from stop to starting forward in traffic is to run on cruise control and hit resume to keep it from jerking! It NEVER did this prior to Software update! These things are absolute JUNK from the assembly line. One of Ford's better ideas? Has anyone else with this latest recall had issues like this or the software update not fixing and or making it worse?
