I'm sure I'll be happy once I get them installed... but I do have a question.

I got the rears on with no problem... removed the 4 plastic clips... peeled back the interior soft wall... installed the 4 metal clips... and then the 4 screws with a 7mm socket.

Done deal.

The fronts look to be a different story though.

As you can see... 1 plastic clip removed at the bottom... but there's 4 holes.

???

I can reach behind the flat black trim and feel what I think is more plastic clips... but what's the trick here?

I did a mudflap install on my previous vehicle and it had screws and metal clips and I just clipped the flap to the metal fender lip... this looks to be somewhat different though.

Instructions are confusing and aren't much help... but I have 4 each of the parts shown... metal clips... plastic clips... and 7mm screws... which should be 2 each for each flap.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I swear I read "no drilling required" on this... ?

Looks like you have to drill 3 holes per those instructions. Mine were factory installed but I can confirm mine are mounted exactly like your instructions are showing with screws on top and bottom and two plastic pins in the center holes.

Thanks for the reply. Now it's making sense... I guess now what I am looking at in the middle left side of that instruction page is a drill image? ?

I guess my only concern is what am I drilling into. As said I can feel behind the flat black trim with my fingers and it feels like the same plastic clips that I removed from the rear and from the bottom of the front here.

Can't very well drill into those first... they have to be removed. Only problem is I can't see them and there isn't a whole lot of play in that flat black trim.

... and here I am thinking it would be easy. The backs were... took like 15 mins. The fronts definitely aren't. It would make too much sense to use 4x factory hole locations on this instead of hiding 3 of them behind the flat black trim on the front.

I put mine on last year so bear with me. I know you have to drill holes in the front ones. Im pretty sure you have to drill 3 holes on the front ones per side so a total of 6 holes to drill. If your handy with a drill it’s not really that bad of a job because your drilling thru plastic no metal involved. 1 step at a time. Good Luck Steve

Should only be one hole to drill in the bottom into the plastic molding.

Edit. Steve is correct. Drill 3 holes each side. Bolt the bottom in then drill the other three holes. It’s only been six months I I had it complete backwards.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah the drilling isn't the problem I'm just wondering what I am drilling into... (see previous reply)

The backs had a frame with holes that I had to put those metal clips on so the screws would have something to grab... and I'm assuming the same applies here... only I can't see the 3 locations.

Very confusing. Someone else says 3 holes... you say 1 hole and I can't find a video anywhere.

I can't just drill holes in plastic... the screws have to have something to grab... hence the metal clips that were used on the rear.

Don’t you have those metal clips to put on the front ones ???

sorry about that. Just checked my instructions, step 5 says drill three holes. I thought it was only one. I think it’s all into plastic.

No prob!

Yeah... as said in the first post with pics I have 4x of each part shown with the instructions... 4 metal clips... 4 7mm screws, and 4 plastic clips.

The metal clips are for the 7mm screws to grab... where do you mount them? That's the issue I'm having. On the rears there was a frame with the 4 holes... I clipped the metal clips to go over the holes... and installed the screws.

On the fronts I can't see them because the flat black trim is in the way. I can feel behind it and feel the plastic clips... which I'm assuming need to be removed then the metal clips installed (just like on the back) but the problem is I can't see.

Am I making sense? The rears just had the soft wheel well liner I pulled back. The fronts have it plus the flat black trim that is covering the hole locations.

Ok... I'll give it a try tomorrow. I guess I need to work around the flat black trim... i.e. peel back the soft liner and reach behind it.

Just a PITA. ?

I recall the rear being worse but then…..I thought only one hole got drilled in the front. The top and bottom screws go into the clips. Push the clips over the plastic trim part.

I can pull mine off if you need me to check if that helps.

If you want I’ll grab the wife tomorrow to hold the iPad and I’ll make a video of the process to help you out if that’s ok with you but just remember of the time differences I’m on the northeast coast it’s already dark here and it’s 8:30 pm

The top hole you drill get the metal U Nut so bolt has something to screw into. The middle two holes just need the two plastic plugs. The center of the plastic plugs need to be pulled out to release them. After plugs are pushed into holes push center of plug in which causes them to expand and lock into place.
