OEM cross bars vs. Aftermarket

Hello all,

My 21 BL didn’t come with roof rack cross bars. Deciding on OEM or aftermarket. For those with aftermarket, the bars seem to stick out past the roof rails. I’m 6ft. For those of a similar height or taller, are the bar ends an issue on contacting head or eyes? I’m a natural klutz, so if there’s a chance of bar end contact, I’m your guy

I've got 53in Thule Wingbars on mine and it's not an issue. They make a 60in that could in theory cause you some issues if you weren't paying attention. Unless you know you'll need the extra width anything in the mid 50in and lower will be fine.

I have both sets. OEM and Thule Wingbar Evo. Go aftermarket IMO. There are tons of threads on here about crossbars and setups. You'll find many, many examples of setups to be had.

BTW the OEM racks are actually made by Yakima afaik
