I'm looking to install addon front lights, more for looks than anything. I don't do offroad (at least not on purpose), but the canyon road to my home can be very dark and at times icy, so they will be used frequently. Has anyone tried any of the "Nilight systems"? They're not expensive, and I'm looking at the front bar mount (uses license plate mounting area). Wondering if they are reliable or just so much foo foo glitz. You can see lots of them on Amazon.......Thanks

I have tried som of their lights...I mounted them to a basket on the roof rack...used a three rocker switch for front back and rock lights...they are very bright and seem to be heavy duty...I didn't realize until I was washing the BS that there is a label on the top corner of the windshield that it is accessory ready...does anyone know what that's about?

There's a wiring harness in the A-pillar for accessories. I skimmed the factory instructions for using it and it looks like you have to take half the damn car apart to get to it.

Thanks Buck. It doesn't surprise me that "Accessory Ready" means let the Ford shop do it! But, my install will be in front of the grill, so wires shouldn't be a problem:clap:!

Carol a, I have used nilights on several of my vehicles. Very well built and very bright. Bought a pair for my G6 Bronco that I have not received yet.

Thanks Power Man, I just ordered a set for my BL from Amazon, with a front license plate mount. Was gonna get big round, but wife likes squareish better, so guess who won! :inlove: Gonna look good anyway.

The only Nilight item I have is the 6 gang switch panel. Very easy install. I had to create a mounting station for the control box under the hood. Because the switch panel is so thin, it can essentially be mounted anywhere in the cabin (bracket and adhesive options, both included in kit).

I ran my switch to mount right above my sunglasses holder. I have a sunroof in my BS, so access under the ceiling was pretty easy to run the wire (heavy duty magnets are what mount the ceiling cover to the interior body of the car). Then getting it to the driver side inner windshield frame wasn’t too bad. The cover pops off easily, but there is a flex cable holding it in place that needs to be in bolted if you want to do any wire running in that area around the airbag. From there it’s a straight drop down behind the instrument panel/driver side air vent to get to the firewall. I didn’t have to remove any of that to feed the switch wiring to the control box.

lights - I found some inexpensive 7 Inch 3 way lights for my RC Nudge Bar that work great. These 7 inch Work Lights are DOT approved, so you can run them on normal day to day driving.
Im personally finishing up some other lighting projects, and will post photos once I’m finished.

I did a little bit of cutting to the lower left side of the steering wheel to fit the rocker switch...I also added a fuse panel under the hood to handle my aftermarket lighting and horn(Dixie!)..thought it would be a problem to get to that harness...thanks all for the input!
