Saw this error a couple days ago - anyone else seen this? New 2025 Badlands. No check engine light - got an actual message on display to get vehicle serviced (don't member exact wording). This is screenshot using Forscan where I could pull details. I actually have multiple codes - see second image. Can't say I'm to impressed after spending about 40K on a vehicle to see DTC's already - some non trivial.

All of those are stored codes and not active faults. The last two digits in the DTC is the status byte. When the status byte ends in an 8, it means the code is recorded in the vehicle's history, but not an active fault. Hard to say what triggerred the light to come on the dash, but whatever caused it seems to be gone now.

Below are the codes my truck is reporting to Ford's cloud. I hovered over the status byte to demonstrate. I do have active faults in my PCM for the air dam because I ripped that crap out of my truck, and the DSM code is there because of an issue 2021 trucks with deployable running boards have that require a bit of creativity to fix and that code is a byproduct of the fix.

The first pic date/time match when I was driving and got a message on the display to have vehicle serviced - never a check engine light at all. I wonder exactly what triggers a display message vs. a check engine light?

Hard to tell from a stored code, but if your Fordpass account is connected, message me the VIN and I can pull the connected data to see what it reported to the cloud the day it happened.
