So, I left the dealership and my salesman reassured me to hold firm and they will give in. I put a hundred bucks on it to hold for me until tomorrow.
Psssst. Over here... [whisper]Don't buy a black car.[/whisper]

So what was your final outcome on your badlands .
I’m going next week to pick it up. Probably Monday or Tuesday. We were going to try to do it today because I was off of work but they couldn’t get me in to get my tires switched at the service department. I told them I’m not finalizing anything until my new tires are put on the BL. I have to work through Friday then I’m off for 5 days. I’m hoping we can get it done early next week. The service department at my dealer is appointment only and of course…limited staff.

I just got rid of a black vehicle and I didn’t have any issues with it. Yes, it can be difficult to keep it clean. But…I love detailing as a hobby and our 14 year old is all about it and good at it. Throw some greenbacks at him and it gets done. Now, the winter can be brutal without a doubt. But, I keep it sprayed off and don’t do the drive through car wash. I have a heated garage and wash bay. I’ll get it home and wash it, clay it and give it a good prep with 70 percent alcohol and apply ceramic coating. My son and I will do this together and I’ll apply two coats with an hour plus wait time in between. The black BL is the only one available in my area. My dealership had one black one special order and the one I put a deposit on. I haven’t even seen one on the road around here in southeast Michigan. I see BB and Outerbanks but not the BL.

Congrats , one of my other cars is a black , auto car washing no way . All by hand in garage , I use mirror shine products by Torque detailing . Grate products, you have to try there plastic shine it is for all of our black gray trim pieces and bumpers. My black car is like new still and is 4 years old . Good luck on your new purchase and enjoy your dad son time , it goes by to quickly.

Thanks. I’ll have to check them out. I definitely am doing the ceramic right away. I use Armour Shield IX. Great product and super easy for DIY.

No disrespect intended; I'm just being a clown. I traded my Shadow Black Mustang for a BS. Nothing shines like a clean black Mustang, but keeping it clean takes commitment. If you just assume you're going to start cleaning at one end, go all the way to the other, then start over you'll be fine. It's sorta like the painting the Golden Gate Bridge--you just never stop painting.

I have the BL and I'm getting around 24.2 mpg. Driving on stop and go traffic and a little highway to and from work. Love the zippy engine and don't think I would go down engine size but you might enjoy going up. I didn't want a lot of the BL package. Didn't want the moon roof and didn't want the leather seats. I totally love this car (not that there aren't a couple of things I wouldn't change) I think you will enjoy the upgrade!

We get around 25 mpg with our Badlands with Badlands option plus tow hitch. We got our in April 2021. It has only 1700 miles on it, we use only 91 or 93 octane.
