Just joined. Bought a '24 BB and I'm really enjoying it so far. 1k miles in first road to Florida and some off roading on the beach to break her in. The one I could find new and in my price range was in shadow black. I forgot what a pain in the a** it is to keep black clean. Need some support or good Ole tough love from the forum to make me not regret getting it in black. I love keeping my tools clean and orderly but I feel my OCD might get the best of me on this one.

FWIW, I too recommend a ceramic wrap. Our 2024 Big Bend has the Azure gray metallic tri coat paint and at $995 extra cost we felt the added investment (not cheap) of a ceramic wrap was justified. We opted for a five year warranteed application and it looks great. Maintenence is easy. I use Meguires gold wash, using micro fiber cloths and low pressure hose rinse. Drying with chamois and micro fiber cloths. No swirls. We're about to get into winter where we get sub freezing weather with snow so this will be the big test of its durability. I'm confident it will come through with flying colors.

If I ever had to buy a black rig, I don't think I'd ever actually wash it until the day before I traded it in. The dirt wouldn't bother my OCD... the scratches definitely would.

Yeah I think I'm gonna do it... got a quote for a paint correction and a 5 year ceramic for $900

That's the color I really wanted but went with black cause it was about 3k cheaper and it looked so good when I saw it. Just f

I know after a while I won't be bothered. That's what happened with my other car. Getting a car cover soon to lesson the problem though since I park outside

Avoid ALL automatic car washes, even the "touchless" variety. The high pressure they use to blast away dirt also pushes any really gritty dirt in to the finish. The soap used in the touchless washes is also a lot harsher than normal, which is needed to wash away dirt without touching the car. Similar to how an automatic dishwasher works.

A quality ceramic coating will help reduce the amount of dirt build up and make hand washing way easier. PPF on the entire car would be the ultimate solution, but even that needs to be redone every 5-7 years. Leaving PPF on the car too long can actually cause more damage than you are trying to prevent.

Darker colors are difficult to keep clean. Black, Dark gray, dark blue, etc. They are absolutely beautiful when clean, but quickly show pollen, dust, dirt, etc.

Love the pinstripe might look into that for mine.. how much do you get that for?
A local icon in the hot rod community I live Paul VonStraus who’s been stripping for 50 years did that in 25 minutes. He asked for $80, I gave him $100

I've been using touchless automatic car washes for about 20 years here in the Western NY area (had the monthly plan most of that). I've been going every Monday & Friday (more often in the winter months) and have yet experienced any ill affects.
