A year ago I went to get myself some rhubarb pants. I did not get the rhubarb as somebody beat me to them. I headed home. On my way back I was driving by a dealership, so I stopped to see if they have any Badlands in stock. Talked to a dealer and he said that they don't have any Badlands, but somebody preordered a First Edition and they just ran out on time to claim it. Well that's how our journey begun.
I paid sticker for it but it has been the most fun car to drive.
Mechanical issues:
Brakes squeal on first backup.
In eco mode if you in a slow traffic situation it downshifts funny.
Cosmetic issues:
Pain chips too easily and in places that you would not expect.
Window up/down buttons fake chrome pealing.
Driver's seat leather shaping as a slide in a seat....if that makes sense.
Electronics issues:
Radio cuts out once in a while (makes me think of focus problem).
MPG:
Total: 21.8
City: never pay attention
Highway: 32 in eco
Off-roading:
Only got it stuck once. I stopped because wife and a kid were scared, could not get traction after that (snow and mud). Got it out on its own when mud froze.
Keeping it clean: HARD
Maintenance: 13.8k
2 x oil changes (no problem with getting parts)
1 x air filter (was hard to find)
10+ car washes
Wild peak tires half way (did rotate once, they are wearing the same)
Brakes also half way
Fun factor: 10/10
