They announced an additional 2 weeks. Michigan is halting for the first time.I may be wrong but I thing the most of this was previously announced? Maybe just not all in one place.
This is an extension to the original delay and they are now saying they are focusing their attention to the Big Bronco and its summer launchI may be wrong but I thing the most of this was previously announced? Maybe just not all in one place.
I just read it again and I don't see any change to the Hermosillo production pause from May 3 to May 17. Other plants perhaps but I don't see anything different at Hermosillo??This is an extension to the original delay and they are now saying they are focusing their attention to the Big Bronco and its summer launch
100% agreeI am not seeing any additional delays for the Mexico plant in that article. And the Ford guy was quoted April 8. So maybe my June 14 build date will hold? Hmmm......
oh zero doubt and I've heard many start ups are working to jump in and fill some gaps, but it will get worse before better. I'd guess anyone with a build in motion is OK...but going forward it may be nearly impossible. I would guess once sports are filled, they shift chips to the F-150S sitting on lots waiting. That's gold sitting there doing nothing. Local HIGH volume dealer has EIGHT ....less than ten...F-150S on the lot. This dealer has three stores, and has been in business for fifty years. The semiconductor shortage is a real concern. I had a year left on my lease but once I started seeing news reports about auto manufacturing feeling the effects I knew it was time to move for the BS now rather than when the lease is up.
Looking on the positive side, I'm hoping the issues over the past year will induce more localized (antifragile) supply chains in the long-term.oh zero doubt and I've heard many start ups are working to jump in and fill some gaps
Creating localized supply chains will need to include localized manufacturing to be truly effective.Looking on the positive side, I'm hoping the issues over the past year will induce more localized (antifragile) supply chains in the long-term.
I read somewhere Ford is rethinking the whole "just in time inventory" model to avoid these parts/supplier issues in the future. Won't be fixed any time soon but changes improvements to this parts shortage are in the works.Looking on the positive side, I'm hoping the issues over the past year will induce more localized (antifragile) supply chains in the long-term.
