Dude is correct and no offense meant in any direction. The simple truth is either a) user error or b) it is not working as it should and it needs fixed. If you are certain it is not “a”, which people tried to help with, then pursue “b” and talk to your dealerships mechanic to test it and fix it.Thanks so much for your input. Did not mean to offend. Any other ideas would be appreciated!!
Are you referring to the liftgate button on the keyfob or on the dash (which has been removed for awhile now) or are you referring to the liftgate button on the liftgate itself?Good Morning.
I have heard of the fix where you push the liftgate button on the remote twice, but my remote does not have a liftgate button at all. I have a 23 Outer Banks. Does anyone know if Ford removed the liftgate button from the 23's? I too am frustrated with the liftgate not working properly.
Thank you.
Maybe ask your dealership if the keyfob depicted on the left in this pic would work for the ‘23 ?… another solution to get the liftgate to recognize the liftgate unlock function without taking the key fob out of my pocket. I have a 23 Outer Banks model.
Another thing you might try is to switch between all-doors-unlock mode and driver's-door-only unlock mode (I believe the Owner's Manual calls this "two-stage unlock mode," because you have to press the button twice to unlock all doors). With intelligent access (and with the fob as well), when you touch the sensor on the door (or push the unlock button on the fob) either the driver's door only, or all doors will unlock. You switch between modes by pressing and holding both the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time until the exterior lights flash. The flash signals a change of modes. My issue is that the liftgate does not recognize the intelligent key function. It will not unlock when I approach and push the liftgate soft button with the key fob in my pocket. I have to take the key fob out of my pocket and push the unlock button on it in order to open the liftgate.
