Yep. I enlisted in the MARINE CORPS during my senior year of high school. I reported on 21 June 1971. My enlistment ended on 20 June 1975. I was a Corporal at ETS.

Got out and started college on the GI Bill. Met my lovely wife, an Air Force brat, that promptly encouraged me to go back into the military.

I enlisted in the Army National Guard. Worked my way up and went through OCS earning my commission in June 1983. I applied for and was accepted into the Active Guard Reserve program and returned to active duty in August 1985.

I retired from active duty in July 2001 as a Lieutenant Colonel. I was truly blessed to be able to serve a combined total of 26 years.

It was a blast.

SEMPER FI. You really out rank this Sgt. You deserve a salute from me, and a few others.

If you can’t be a Chief, be a Mustang. ;) Semper Fi, brother.
