Have been noticing the LED fans engaging when just opening the doors.
Take this afternoon for example. After sitting all night I opened the front passenger door and tailgate to install a couple of parts. When I put my ear to the headlights I can hear the cooling fans humming. They were silent before the doors were opened. Fans go off after a few minutes when the doors are closed again.
This be normal? ?

I installed LEDS in my wife's Ecosport and my Kymco scooter. They both have cooling fans also. Perfectly normal.
What seemed abnormal to me was the fact that they went on when the doors were opened and the engine had not been started since the day before. The LEDS could not have possibly been hot or even warm. Thanks for the reply though.

Well that explains it!!! I just took my BB camping out on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for a week and I just got home. The noise from the front of my car every time I opened my doors drove me nuts! I couldn't figure out what was running. It lasted up to ten minutes sometimes before going off. And I was parked in the same spot the whole time. And it had nothing to do whether it was in the sun or the shade. I was worried I'd end up with a dead battery.
On another note how can I put my windows up or down without turning the car on every single time???

Had my BS in at the dealer to finally get the injector recall done. While there I asked about the noise from the headlights. Service Manager got back to me. Cooling fans from the headlights. I guess I was the first person to ask about this noise.

Another reason the fans come on is to help with moisture/condensation build up in the light housing as they are not sealed assemblies.

If you have the global up/down feature, it is explained in your owners manual. If you don’t have that feature, you can’t.
