I have a '23 Outer Banks (1.5). I notice I have to add anti-freeze to the reservoir lately. I'm guessing that I'm having a water pump problem. My vehicle is over 3 years old with 19000 miles. Was there ever a recall for a water pump or is it strictly a warranty issue. If I can't get it repaired by the dealer with a recall, I'll take it to my local mechanic and save some money. What are my op

I had my '24 OB pump replaced under warranty a few months ago. I went when anti freeze was a smidge under min line.
I told them I wanted pump tested and it indeed needed to be replaced.

Original Poster sounds like he is beyond 3 years? Beyond warranty? But I would still start with the dealer. It is a well documented problem that Ford might be willing to take care of.

I just had this issue with my '21 Outer Banks, but I was at 61k miles. Failed almost exactly 1k out of warranty. You should be under warranty still

We had the4th water pump replaced at 56,000. They went at 12k,24k,36k,and the latest at 56k. The last letter on the part number for the first 3 was a “B” . The letter on the last one was a ”C”. We got an extended warranty from Granger. So from now on the next pump is us and our warranty. . The service manager did say the latest pump is covered for 12 months or 12k. But after that our warranty would cover it. I told him that in that scenario, we’re out the cost of the warranty and the $100 deductible to cover an obvious defective series of water pumps.
