Hey ... I did the same thing .. I ordered a Maverick back in Sept ... still no maverick in June and got a notice from Ford to take some of the things I wanted off of the truck. I ordered up a 30,000-dollar xlt . Well, I was driving by my dealer one day and there sat 3 Bronco Sports. I chose a Big Bend Kodiak brown for an Msrp of a bit over 32,000 and it had a convenience pkg on it that had more stuff in it then what the Maverick lux with the few extras I had ordered. yeah, it isn't a hybrid, but I hear the Hybrid is having an issue at the moment. I'm Very happy with the 30.8 miles to the gallon I am getting at the moment, and I only have 900 miles on it right now.
Yeah it gets good gas mileage for an SUV..and like you said, it has some nice qualities and features that the Maverick was missing. No FOMO or regrets for me.

That doesn't even make sense.

If he special ordered the Maverick he was getting it at MSRP so they could've easily marked up the BS. It's the same thing, different vehicle.
Most likely the dealership felt it could mark up the Maverick more.

That’s how a car deal should work, the buyer is happy and the dealer is happy. Honestly, I really do not understand why that is hard sometimes.
It's the free market, baby. People who are paying these ridiculous markups must be happy too, otherwise they wouldn't cough up the dough. Having the coolest car on the block is worth the money for them. As long as everyone is being honest there's no problem. It when a dealership starts jacking around with a deal it already made that pisses me off. Markups aren't the problem, dishonesty is the problem.

Ordered a Hybrid XLT Maverick in August of 2020. Has been delayed over 5 times and went to the dealership on Friday to see when it may come. Was delayed again until September (been sitting at a rail yard for 2 months).

A black Bronco Sport-Outer Banks, caught my eye. After test driving it, I never looked back. The dealership was awesome enough to give it to me at MSRP, and will be taking over my Maverick order in exchange.

Very excited to be digging through this forum for mods, pics, memes, ect. Cheers!

Congratulations on your OB! I had the chance to buy one in black back in February’22, but passed it up because black just sits in the sun soaking up heat. If I had a garage, I would have bought it. Mine is supposed to be here by the end of this week. One of the first things I plan to do is have white wrap put on the roof between the rails, to reflect the heat. Hopefully the white won’t be visible from the side. Did yours come with 360+?

Thanks! And luckily, I work from home and have a garage, so I will mostly be hopping into it without too much heat. That’s a smart idea with going with that white wrap! I’m going to get the front windows ceramic tinted to help with some interior heat.

It didn’t come with the 360+ unfortunately. Came with pretty much every other option though. The Maverick I ordered wouldn’t have lane centering and adaptive cruise either, though. Only comes on the Lariat+Lux package. Definitely seems like an amazing feature for highway driving / road trips though.

I’m also going to get my windshield ceramic tinted. I’m told it’s invisible to the eye, and reduces interior heat . But I’m also leaning towards an exterior windshield protection film to prevent glass damage from rocks, etc. My only concern is that the two layers of film might screw with the cameras that control the lane centering, speed limit sign reading, etc. I’ll ask the installers if that’s a problem when I visit the shop.

Ceramic tint on the windshield is a must have for me now. The biggest difference I notice is when driving and the sun shines in through the windshield. Without the tint you can feel the sun on your skin but with the tint I don't.

I had a coating applied to the exterior of my windshield on my last car that protects against pitting and makes cleaning easier. It wasn't a film though, it was some kind of liquid. Think like a higher end form of Rain-X. What I noticed most was that the windshield did not get the marks from the wipers like it did before. I had it done when I had the windshield replaced.

Just got the front 2 windows ceramic tinted at 20% to match the back. Already can tell a difference with the heat and looks great (to me).
