Yeah it gets good gas mileage for an SUV..and like you said, it has some nice qualities and features that the Maverick was missing. No FOMO or regrets for me.
Most likely the dealership felt it could mark up the Maverick more.
It's the free market, baby. People who are paying these ridiculous markups must be happy too, otherwise they wouldn't cough up the dough. Having the coolest car on the block is worth the money for them. As long as everyone is being honest there's no problem. It when a dealership starts jacking around with a deal it already made that pisses me off. Markups aren't the problem, dishonesty is the problem.
Congratulations on your OB! I had the chance to buy one in black back in February’22, but passed it up because black just sits in the sun soaking up heat. If I had a garage, I would have bought it. Mine is supposed to be here by the end of this week. One of the first things I plan to do is have white wrap put on the roof between the rails, to reflect the heat. Hopefully the white won’t be visible from the side. Did yours come with 360+?Ordered a Hybrid XLT Maverick in August of 2020. Has been delayed over 5 times and went to the dealership on Friday to see when it may come. Was delayed again until September (been sitting at a rail yard for 2 months).
A black Bronco Sport-Outer Banks, caught my eye. After test driving it, I never looked back. The dealership was awesome enough to give it to me at MSRP, and will be taking over my Maverick order in exchange.

Black looks great when clean, but it shows dirt like a mf. I’ve had two black F-150s.
Thanks! And luckily, I work from home and have a garage, so I will mostly be hopping into it without too much heat. That’s a smart idea with going with that white wrap! I’m going to get the front windows ceramic tinted to help with some interior heat.
I’m also going to get my windshield ceramic tinted. I’m told it’s invisible to the eye, and reduces interior heat . But I’m also leaning towards an exterior windshield protection film to prevent glass damage from rocks, etc. My only concern is that the two layers of film might screw with the cameras that control the lane centering, speed limit sign reading, etc. I’ll ask the installers if that’s a problem when I visit the shop.
Ceramic tint on the windshield is a must have for me now. The biggest difference I notice is when driving and the sun shines in through the windshield. Without the tint you can feel the sun on your skin but with the tint I don't.
