From what I've read on here, everyone just accepts these delays and doesn't want to fight them. That is what's wrong with our country. Grow some balls people and Ford will listen and react. I've cussed them out, but by myself it's useless. We have numbers and buying power here. USE IT!

Well this is awkward. Seems like my balls are still stuck in production.

Two things:

1. I truly think everyone is getting finished up right now. I don’t see anything in the builds that are not in the ones that just finished up. I know that is easy for me to say now that mine has shipped, so I apologize if this comment rubs salt in wounds.

2. I think it is interesting that all the March orders are done but not the February (and Jan/Dec). April makes a little sense because they were supposed to stop taking orders on March 7th or 8th, but why take orders after you put that deadline out there and then not finish them?
my March order isn’t done.

Yesterday there were 157 in my same group per tracker today 156, so one person day I should have it by mid 2023

Also there are things ford could do to mitigate the chip shortage. Build their own in-house chip manufacturing plant.(they are, should have had years ago though ). Not only do they then not
Have to share profits outside company, but they can get special one off chips and hardwired specific stuff easily. Plus they can save a ton on import taxes if they built in the USA.

Well up until about 18 months ago there was no real incentive for them to build their own plant now was there? I mean you're talking about huge expenditures and really let's be honest do we think Ford is the best manufacturer of microchips or is it Samsung, Intel, or TSM? Ford's in the business of making cars, not microchips I know in my business I sub out stuff that I could not do better, cheaper, or quicker on my own. Look, I'm not saying you shouldn't be frustrated but just know that every other manufacturer that needs a computer chip is going through the same things. Just try and find a graphics card that would normally be readily available at your local Best Buy, or a CPU, or anything else that uses a semiconductor. It's either pay over MSRP or wait until you can scoop it up as soon as it hits the shelf. It is an unfortunate time and things will eventually get better but not before you have your new car and you don't care about chip shortages anymore. Sooo just hang in there people, you've got this, plus I just got word that there may be extra incentives for waiting if you ordered before May 13th you are likely eligible for a $1000 bonus cash so call Ford and make sure you get that discount # mine is good until January 23rd, 2023.

Added you to my list, we need to get at least one of you completed today because we’re sitting at 13.

Who at ford do you call for the bonus? Do you have a phone number? Thank you for all the info! I agree we are in unfortunate times and though I am disappointed it doesn’t pay to get too upset. It will eventually get here! Hopefully with the extra time they are taking, ours will be very very well built?

have ford dealer run a "smart vincent" report when you pick it up, Also(if you havent join an organization to get X plan pricing, there are a ton, should save you 1k or more also).

The internet sales manager from long mcarthur, KS (I think @fordvideoguy ).has some great videos about it.

Ok, I've been lurking here for a few weeks, and to anyone else reading this post & agreeing with the sentiment... just don't. The person on the other end of your angry phone call is NOT the person making the decisions on which cars get made when. They probably have no idea how it works beyond the script they are given. They are dealing with angry, impatient people day in & day out just trying to earn a living. Cursing and shouting at them might make you feel better, but it does absolutely nothing to change the situation and only makes someone else feel worse. Find better ways to manage your emotions than lashing out at someone WHO IS ABSOLUTELY NOT the person upsetting you.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Now, I ordered my Big Bend on 4/16, in production on 7/1, and I called my dealer last week to try to get some kind of update. He put a trace on it, and called me back to let me know that it's on a chip hold but that the situation is expected to be resolved by 8/19. I don't know what he means by resolved, whether the chips will be in hand, or that the car will be completely finished & ready to ship, so as of right now, STILL IN PURGATORY.

I had better love this thing.

I just called the Ford chat and inquired about my order and they offered it up, but I do believe it falls under the bonus incentive for customer orders made before May 13th.

To be fair there's literally nothing that Ford as a company can do to combat a global shortage of chips. I assure you that they would rather be able to produce any vehicle as quickly as they can and bring it to market. Whether that be a customer's special order or a dealer stock allocation. They make money by manufacturing and selling cars. They are actively punishing dealers that are overcharging and are looking to move to a direct-to-consumer business model. However, there are standing LAWS that prevent this that were put in place 50-60 years ago. Overturning that sort of red tape takes years and years. Tesla got around it through a few loopholes but they are a new company and could set up their business that way. Cursing out the poor customer service rep or anyone for that matter doesn't help. If you're that dissatisfied go buy a Jeep or whatever else you can find on the lot for a price you're willing to pay.
Henry Ford, during WWII built tanks to save his company, you don't think Ford could produce these chips. NO EXCUSES!

OrderTrack shows the number of people on similar status is 286, it was under 275 when I got my In Transit notification. I also believe that OrderTrack is only counting people who have accessed their vehicle on OrderTrack (if not, the numbers are way too low). They are being completed and shipped slowly but surely.

But WWII tanks weren't THAT different from the vehicles Ford was already manufacturing. More steel, bigger engine, space for guns & whatnot. But microchips are an entirely different animal - they use completely different materials and manufacturing processes than vehicles themselves. You're demanding oranges from an apple tree.

Yes, I read an excellent article about how you can’t put video game (and other) chips in a vehicle. Can’t remember exactly why, but it made sense as I was reading the article.

Interesting! Maybe this Thursday/Friday a few more of us will change over to "built"!
