I'm going to write about my wife's cars now. She is a short but feisty gal but she was not able to drive any of my early merc/ford's due to either stick shifts or size even with a pillow! After the comet was destroyed, we decided we needed a car both of us could drive. Enter the first of a number of Toyotas. The first, '78 red Corolla. It was perfect for her. 6 years and 100+k miles later, totaled. Next up an '84 turdcel. Underpowered and again another total. Both cars driven by my wife both times not her fault. Next up an 83 corolla wagon with an overheating problem but it held up well enough until we finally purchased a good solid 86 Camry. She put over a 100k on her before trading it in for her first new car, a 2002 red Celica gt. 11 years later, no, not totaled, sold it and moved to Colorado in2013. We had the '08 Escape 4x at that time, which served us very well. OK, time moves on to current day where my patient wife finally has her dream car, a red 2003 mustang convertible with 85k miles. And now I have my Bronco Sport. All of the afor mentioned Toyotas were very good a-b cars, reliable to a fault. I have no doubt that our Ford's will be the same.
