Hi. Posting this to give some of you hope (?). I am not sure if my experience equates to typical wait time for the order and delivery of a BS Badlands.
Take note that I live near Ottawa Canada, so my wait time may be longer that those of you living closer to Hermosillo.
On February 16th of 2022, I placed an order with my long-time dealership in Ottawa.
Pretty loaded except for Co-Pilot 360 Assist plus, sunroof and the towing package.
No cash was deposited, no papers signed. Just an order over the phone placed with the sales manager.
He warned me at that point that it would take 3 to 4 months to get the car.
I was aware of all of the production issues with BS and Maverick production so my hopes were not high.
On May 16th (3 months later), I placed a call to my salesperson to inquire about the status of my order.
He told me he had a serial number for the BS and that construction of the actual vehicle would be sometime in June 2022.
I was going to call him back on July 16th (2 months later) when I got a call last Tuesday (July 12th) telling me the vehicle had arrived at the dealership!!!
The only thing missing on the car was the roof rack that are forthcoming.
Looking at the data plate, I notice that the car was actually built on May 22nd, just a few days after my follow-up with the salesperson (coincidence, I am sure).
This means that it took just over 3 months from placing order to actually building the car.
So therefore it appears to have taken almost 2 months from the day it was built to delivery at my dealership in Ottawa.
This is probably due to transportation-logistics issues Ford is having.
The whole transaction took about 5 months, a month longer that what I was originally told.
I think this is reasonable given the current world wide parts shortages.
There appears to be much worse horror stories of wait times in this forum.
So was my experience typical?
Was it slow or fast?
I tried to attach a picture of my BS. Not sure if it will show up.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks.
