I don't know how much "performance" you want. Growing up I've had my share of muscle cars, and I'll be the first to admit that I would love the 2.0 in my OBX. That being said though I was surprised with the performance of the 1.5. It certainly isn't a race car, but it is respectable, and I would drive one before you discount it.
