the 2.0 has been recalled almost as many times as the 1.5, including for driveshaft issues….so yeah ???

Yeah, that's just not true. Of the 14 recalls that the BS has had, only the Sunroof leak and Control module (tcm/pcm/tecm) have also effected the Badlands / 2.0L models.

Well not to be nit picky but you are leaving out the 2.0L emission sticker recall. Got that official recall paperwork along with a sticker to apply over the factory installed sticker under the hood. ?

The one that replaced only the label? I mean if you want to call an incorrect label a recall I guess. It was for late model 21 to early model 22's that they had to change the sticker under the hood.

I worked in the auto industry for 35 years and never liked auto stocks. I was forced to own some from time to time in SSPs, but as soon as I earned their match, I rolled them over to an IRA I managed and sold them. Never owned an airline stock either.

I'm suprised some of the institutional investors don't have a lynch mob after Farley. One thing I learned working for a large centralized corp is that you can delegate authority, but not responsibility. Farley is responsible for losing billions of shareholders dollars. He should be fired. No excuses. He also bears some cullpibility for Ford dealer's poor service because he tolerates it. Ford needs a culture change and that can only come from the top.
Vanguard, BlackRock and State Street own an huge amount of the shares. Thing is that the leadership of these groups have taken to promotion of social causes using other people's money. I presume electric cars rank high on their social good index. This is the problem with our current iteration of the market economy. Most people who own stock own it through funds managed by groups like this. They really have no control over it and can't just get pissed at earnings and sell. Thus, incompetents like Farley keep getting more chances since they promote the "right" product. That is the only explanation why he remains employed. It's not just the EV debacle, he managed to botch the F-150 refresh (Ford's cash cow). Not a new gen mind you, just a damn refresh - new grill and a fancy tailgate that they cannot produce at scale. If you allow sales of F-150s to slip at Ford, Ford is on a very bad road.

Yeah I was joking. But it was a recall to add the label.

Yeah I know, I gave ya the thumbs up, just don't understand why people do 0% research before getting into a vehicle. The ford 2.0L is a great engine, the 2.4 is also a solid engine in the big bronco. the 1.5 in the BS and the 2.7 in the big bronco have been plagued with issues and recalls since the launch of both vehicles. I mean we joke but it's not hard to look into it.

That's true.

In defense of the early buyers, when the BS came out, CR rated it as having 'very good' reliability (4/5 score). I believe the recalls began later.

We ordered our Badlands in December of 2021, and I recall being glad to see that it did well in CR's testing and survey results -- because my wife really liked/likes it (it's really hers) and there were no other options in that price range. The other SUVs she liked were that way expensive Mercedes, and a Land Rover -- they were out of the question.

Without checking, I believe most of the recalls began shortly after that. Of course I may not have been aware of them right away since they didn't affect the Badlands.
