I know this was covered previously, however, I decided to try to do it in such a way to avoid any scratching/marring of plastic. The tolerances are just too tight to access the plastic tabs from the front. Too bad, too, this is an easy swap.
First, remove the console top, it just pulls straight up, no hardware, just clips. I like to unplug all of the connectors and set it aside out of the way. You will get the occasional ding ding ding when the emergency brake switch is disconnected. This also throws an ABS module code, but no CEL, and this code clears in about a weeks orb of drive cycles. You can also clear the code yourself by setting, releasing, setting, releasing the emergency brake. wait a couple seconds between button pushing.
next, remove the passenger side console side trim. Just give it a good yank, the clips will release. same thing for the drivers side.
you will see a silver screw on the sides of the plastic that holds the USB hub. Remove the same screw from each side. They’re directly across from each other.
once you remove the screws, pull straight up on the plastic piece that houses the USB, the CLIPS WILL RELEASE.
unplug the two connections from the USB hub, push the two plastic tabs on the sides of the hub, and push the hub from behind - it will push out.
push the new illuminated hub into the housing, connect the connections, reinstall the screws, clip the console sides back in, reconnect all electrical connectors to the console top, and reinstall.
confirmed, CarPlay, USB function like they should, and the ports are illuminated.
