Your iPhone with IOS 17 or later has the capability to Look Up Car Dashboard Symbols.
1. Open the camera app, and take a photo of the dashboard symbol.
The symbol(s) needs to be in focus, so you may need to zoom in and take a close-up of the specific symbol of interest.
2. Open the photo, and tap the info button (i) > Look Up Auto Symbol.
If the info button (i) doesn’t have a star, Visual Look Up isn’t available for that photo. Try taking another photo and make sure you have an internet connection.
3. Tap the symbol to open an explanation on the International Standards Organization (ISO) website.
Note: the above steps apply to IOS 17. IOS 18 provides an updated Photos App and the listed steps may be different.
