I'm wondering how the stock Good Year Territory RT 235/65R17 all terrain tires do in the snow and ice. Can I just keep these tires and put the GOAT mode into slippery mode for light to moderate snow OR do I need to purchase dedicated winter tires?

It’s rated for severe snow. If it’s as good as my Falkens, you’ll be fine. Personally, I don’t like slippery mode. It really takes away the throttle response. We had 10 inches of snow last week. I prefer sand mode in the deep snow. It locks the rear and turns off traction control.

Which Falkens do you have? I have their Wildpeak AT3W on my Superduty and absolutely love them.

The same. AT3w’s 235/65-17’s. They were the optional tires in 2022. Now it’s the Goodyear Territory’s. My Falkens are great in the snow.

Good deal, the Wildpeak AT3W has been replaced with the AT4W
You can still find them at Discount tire. The 236/65-17 was a custom design for Ford so not exactly the same as the other AT3w’s.

When I purchased my 23 Badlands, the stock tires were Pirelli all seasons. As part of the sale, I had them replace them with the Falken AT3Ws. They have been rock solid tires in snow so far.

As long at the Goodyears are rated for snow (has the snow rated tire symbol on it) I'd give them a go. If you find they are not up to snuff, you can always get dedicated winter tires.

Just seeing this. The stock Pirelli tires suck in snow. Do not trust them on unlevel roads. Last year, I was going up to the Santa Fe Ski area and in slippery mode I began to drift towards the opposite lane which had oncoming traffic.

Yes, that is why I made a deal with them to upgrade the tires to the Falkens.

While full winter tires are the best option, the Falkens have offered the best winter traction I have had.

Are the AT4W as good as the AT3W? I just ordered a set of the AT4W as could only find 2 of the 3W...I think they must be discontinued.
The AT3w’s are discontinued, but have still been available for the last year or so. The AT4w’s are heavier than the AT3w’s.

I have had Michelin tires on my 2021 Explorer as well as my 2025 Bronco Sport. I was always very happy with the way they worked for me. My driving is generally more on slippery than deep snow. If our snow exceeds 8 or 10 inches I use my F-150. It has Pirelli tires that work quite well for me.
