Help with ignition-on fuse or wire tap

I ordered and installed an auxiliary switch box, got the box mounted and wire ran through to driver side. The iddue I'm having now is connecting the fuse to power. I quickly realised the under-hood fuse box is a pretty sealed box and won't realistically get a tap in there, and the box is a long way from the interior fuse box. Has anyone had to splice onto an exiting ignition-on wire (possibly in the headlight) and had success?

I've been looking for an answer to this question for a while as well, while planning out some ideas, so I hope someone can chime in.

In the meantime where did you get / what is that plate that your switch box is mounted to? Thats a great solution for mounting additional circuitry in the engine bay.

The easiest one for an ignition-only on fuse is probably number 3 on this diagram. it`s un-used and is on the correct side for a fuse tap. 15/16 also works if you have a triple tap instead of a micro. This is all on the interior fuse panel as well, the engine one is pretty well sealed from addons. Either run the wire through the firewall or you can slip it through the rubber grommet at the side of the door
