has anyone had dealer add OEM backup sensor system?

I added this rear sensor to a Solara convertible that had zero rear vision and it works very well. I’m considering it now with my BB but first trying to get used to relying on the very excellent rear view camera system alone. Change is hard!

If it uses trailer power it shuts down blind spot assist and the rest of the rear sensors and gives you a warning repeatedly. Happens when you plug just about anything into trailer power on the BS.

Is there any workaround to the blind spot assist being turned off when trailer lights are attached? Doesn't make sense to me that when you're towing something, you then lose the blind spot assist. Don't understand that logic.

My Outer Banks came with the sensor and it even picked up a person standing around 3 feet from my rear bumper and off to the side. Started beeping like mad.

When backing up, it starts sounds at around 5 feet from the object behind me.
