Got rear ended and have a question about the bumper…

We have a 2021 Big Bend without the tow package and recently got rear ended. There is minimal damage, but the cover needs replaced. We would really like to just have the cover replaced with the oem style that has the cutout for the hitch.
From what I can see, there are several different cover options. Ours has the little round plugs around it for the sensors (at least I am thinking that’s what they are for).

has anyone done this kind of bumper cover swap to get the hitch? I’m thinking it will make it easier for the shops to install the hitch when we end up getting it and it will look oem.

Buying used can save you VS. new

Depending on the damage, there are a number of parts under the bumper cover that may also need to be replaced.

No one was hurt. It was at very low speed, just exiting a parking lot. It looks like the plastic is just wrinkled a little and the plate light housing is cracked.

I’m fairly confident nothing else is damaged behind the skirting. I was thinking about just asking Ford to get the cover that has the cutout and the hitch. Then just have their service department remove the damaged cover and install the hitch and cover.

Makes sense to have the hitch installed at the same time the bumper is off to be replaced. Don't forget the wiring harness.
