Fuel Gauge?

The last 4 tanks or so the Fuel Gauge hasn't registered Full only 7/8's of a tank after filling up?And the one time the pump kicked out and i pumped another $1.20 in it. Has anyone else had this problem,Thanks

I have seen other similar posts but not sure the OP ever provided full resolution on what fixed the issue

There are also posts it’s best to just stop filling after the one click when the pump shuts off

I have noticed that sometimes the gauge will oscillate especially when full. Like it will drop a bit after you do your trips. And when you turn on the car again it will display a different reading. I am guessing it might be the fuel buoy but noticed it happens when I park on a hill or steep angle.

The last tank it didn't even get to the one click.

Here is a previous thread on gas pump issues: issue-at-the-gas-pump.4593. Not necessarily exactly your issue.
Also I realize this is a long shot but have you happened to be using the same pump each time? Is it possible that there was an issue with that pump?

IIRC different pumps. And the pump wasn't kicking out like in the link.

Different stations, or different pumps at the same station? Pressure at the nozzle can vary quite a bit from one station to the next. It can even vary based on how many cars are filling up at the same time. Higher pressure (faster flow) can cause fuel to back up into the filler port before the tank is full, which will kick off the pump. Try going to a reduced flow as the tank becomes full.

I [usually] use the lowest setting when I fill up for just that reason (pump kicking back too soon). I freeze a little more in the winter months, but I consider it a necessary evil to completely fill the tank.

Same station different pumps.But the same station as almost all the other times when i filled up when the gauge was registering full.

Maybe i'll try that as i usually fill up on Mondays and this Monday is supposed to be Sunny and 45 so i won't freeze.
