Thanks for the info. I do have Copilot+ thankfully. I didn't know about that stuff with the brakes. I have tried calling and using the online chat and they all refuse to give me an answer. I know its to dodge legal responsibility. They said by tomorrow I should hear from someone. I don't want to even fart on the car, because I know if I do anything to this, they will throw liability in my face, so I'm just gonna let it alarm and scream, and Ill have the wife drop me off to work tomorrow I guessHave you tried disconnecting the battery cable? Sometimes this can reset the PCM (powertrain control module). Have you gotten the trouble codes read with an OBDII reader? Most auto parts stores have a code reader that they will connect to your car for free. The trouble codes will give you a much better idea of what's going on with the computer.
If I were you I would call the Ford customer care line again and ask them to send you a letter or email with their recommendation to drive the vehicle as is--that is something you definitely want in writing. Unless your car is equipped with Copilot 360+ the brakes will not function normally when the engine quits. Vehicles equipped with Copilot 360+ use an electric brake booster, so the brake work fine even with the engine off. Cars without an electric brake booster use vacuum from the engine to power a brake booster. If the engine quits you will lose vacuum power to the booster, and you'll have to step on the brake pedal much harder to stop.
