So I park my vehicle in a car port that's mostly enclosed, which makes the vehicle start in night/dark mode with the headlights on when I back out.

Now, normally, it transitions to day mode and shuts off the headlights and all that.

But the other day, it seemed to glitch out while trying to transition to day mode.

It stayed in night/dark mode the entire trip and none of the buttons worked and the home screen freaked out. I could change SiriusXM channels with the steering wheel controls but that was about it.

You can also see when I tried to press the nav button, it briefly tried to switch to full screen nav but failed and went back.

Something else I found interesting, is it renders the navigation on the entire left side but then covers it up with the other items like buttons and the top bar with the time and temp and such.

Another interesting note is while this glitch was happening, when I shut off the vehicle, it did not play the shutdown animation, just abruptly shut off after the animation should have played.

This is the only time this has happened so far, but just wanted to share in case anyone else has had it happen.

That current build, also last forced checked for updates while at home on my WiFi yesterday to make sure everything was good.

I have never seen a sync system that doesn’t glitch….
‘My Ranger will randomly glitch.
‘A reboot while driving or parked usually restores order lol

On my Ranger you hold the power button and fast forward button down, until it reboots.
May be the same on the Bronco, haven’t tried it yet, since we don’t have ours yet…

The reboot process is the same for the Bronco Sport.

I have to reboot around once a month.

Good to know, thanks y'all!

I had no idea how to reboot it other than shutting the vehicle off, lol.

So that'll be way easier should it happen again.

On a side note, I have noticed that the Android auto, it seems to cause the screen to do weird things. Sometimes just unplugging the phone and back in can solve a problem with the screen. This also occurs more frequent when I plug my phone in while the screen is doing the power up sequence.

Great point as well, always allow the screen boot to finish before plugging in your phone.
It will greatly reduce boot issues…

I had issue with Android Auto with a new cord. I got a retractable one thinking it would be neater coiled away when not in use. First time I used it (only time!) though it made phone and display blink blink blink blink...kept displaying trying to connect.

Excellent points and tips all around but this was stock nav and all that. Android Auto was not in use at the time.

I do use AA sometimes, but I didn't have my phone plugged in for this glitch.

Though maybe if it does happen again I'll try plugging in to see if starting up AA resets it.

I have had luck fixing the random glitchy stuff by pressing the "screen off" button until the screen cycles off and back on again. It usually acts right after that ?‍♂
