Just got a notice in the mail regarding the EGR Valve recall.
Affecting certain 2025-2026 Mustang, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Escape, Edge, Ranger, and Maverick models.
The notice includes your VIN.
Says you may experience weak acceleration, engine vibrations, a no start condition, or loss of power at or below 15mph which may increase the risk of a crash.
Ford is working on a software update anticipated for release September 18, 2026.
Seriously??? 5 1/2 months???

My Check Engine light came on out of nowhere on Friday. Code P044C which may be EGR related. Took it to Ford and they had no diagnostic techs on hand. Kid behind the desk said they are slammed and that I should be fine driving with that code until they call me midweek or next week to bring it in.

I got that recall notice also. I don't like the "software" fix. GM came out with a "software" fix for the ten speed transmission, didn't help the real problem one bit.

Wow. I would be extremely concerned when driving, that at any moment, I could lose power. And not having a fix until the middle of September sucks big time. Good luck with the issue.

From everywhere I have looked (NHTSA, Ford App), I do not appear to be included, either. I have been waiting to see if something had arrived in the mail contradicting the online sources; however, nothing.
