Even with a lift the front end chunks everything and has a bunch of important shit under there. Needs a skid there even with light wheeling the middle section flexes a good amount, mine has a permanent dent in the plastic from hitting.

I feel your pain, however, lol. There just isn't enough support in the forward area with this design. A hit like you suffered will bend this guard back into the bumper. Aside from it being a crap trap, those exposed bolts and no oil change port are an insult.
Now if it tied into something like the light bar pictured it might be strong enough to be considered a bash plate.

Agreed. That seems like it would only work for maybe rocks kicked up.
